Les Granges Aux Belles – La Chaussee Rouge

La Grange aux Belles is a 35-acre Biodynamic estate located eight miles south of Anjou in the village of Soulaines-sur-Aubance. About half the production is AC Anjou, and the rest is Vin de France. La Chaussee (the red floor) is named after a bloody battle during the War in the Vendée and is a blend of hand-harvested 50% Cabernet Franc 50% Grolleau that is put through an 8-day carbonic maceration. Fermentation is done with indigenous yeasts, and there is no chaptalisation or added sulfur. Now, go and finish the bottle.
